Andrew and Joan Hillan are partners in the practice. They met in veterinary college in Dublin, and graduated with honours in June 1988.

In January 2004, Joan set up Fenaghy Veterinary Clinic, the first exclusively companion animal practice in Ballymena, in the Ballymena Business Centre in Galgorm. Andrew joined her in October 2005, and in March 2008 they moved the practice to their home on the Galgorm Road.

Andrew has a keen interest in orthopaedics and neurology (investigation of lameness), while Joan is particularly interested in skin diseases of the
dog and cat, particularly the West Highland White terrier, and also in feline medicine.

In Fenaghy Veterinary Clinic we have special

facilities for cats, with their need for peace and privacy, including cat "hidey-holes" in the waiting
room.

We have two veterinary surgeons who work with us on a regular part-time basis.ISABEL is from Switzerland, and CLAIRE from Co. Cork has

recently joined the practice.

To nurse our animals we have FIONA, a qualified veterinary nurse who joined the practice in April 2007. She oversees the training of PAULINE, who is studying veterinary nursing in Greenmount College.  JOANNE is the latest addition to our team. She has enrolled in Greenmount to train as an Animal Nursing Assistant, and hopes to progress to veterinary nursing also KATHRYN is our main receptionist and practice manager, and is assisted by another FIONA, who works with us on a regular part time basis.

Between us all we have 21 cats, dogs and rabbits, so we can all identify with concerned owners when they entrust animals to our care.
